Yes, believe it or not, it’s Jen writing during the kids’ naps. It’s a beautiful thing when the naps overlap for a few hours!!  Well, we’re slowly getting settled into the house…a bit quicker than we would have otherwise if not for the wonderful help of my mom coming in to town for a few days to whip us into shape.  She’s a fiend with the kitchen and that’s what needed the most help. We went to Home Depot like 3 times in 2 days, and finally found a semi-workable plan for the kitchen until the new cabinets happen.  No news as to when that is right now. I’ve a few calls out but am waiting to hear back from them.  The living room is set up and the dining ‘area’ is recognizable.  There is a spot behind the living room that is going to be the kids’ play area upstairs while the downstairs gets a good cleaning and painting…but it’s all full of boxes right now so Av has to play anywhere he can.  He’s loving the space!  Almost every day I find him driving a dump truck or train through the living room, down the hallway, and into his room – you can tell he’s so pleased!!

Parker is teething and we’re in the thick of it. The worst is when the teeth aren’t even there yet!  He’s drooling and chewing on everything and not napping as well as he normally does.  Poor thing looks so pitiful with his tell-tale runny nose and red eyes…poor poor Parker! 😦

I just came in from working in my back yard and I have to tell you, I love it!  I got my gardening gloves on and my hand clippers and went to town on some bushes, cutting them back to tame them.  It’s so rewarding! Visible proof of the hard work you’ve just done – a whole pile of clippings destined for the brush pile.  Someone took care of this yard about 5 years ago and you can see little proofs of that – it’s like my own little secret garden!  Daylilies are in bloom in the back and are gorgeous.  There’s a crepe myrtle, an antique rose bush, and a few other yet-to-be-identified plants as well.  If my housekeeping can include a little yardwork now and then, I think I won’t mind it as much!

Well – Nashville is quiet right now and it is very apparent that we just moved…we miss all our friends terribly and Avery is still asking about Mr. Josh and Mrs. Jen (he said y’all were in the cabinet hiding today!) and he asks to go to playgroup a lot.  However, he is slowly adjusting to the “new house”, “new bed”, and “new church” (no, we haven’t found a church home this fast…he calls them all “new!”)

Avery seems to like work – he’s coming home later and is driven to read a lot more now, so perhaps I’ll do a little more blogging to keep this updated…I’m not nearly as good as he!  Happy 4th Weekend!! I’ll try to post some pics later on!
