Not what we needed

I’m a big fan of my alma mater, the University of Mississippi. I was raised barely a mile from the heart of the campus and could tell endless stories of baseball games, tailgating in the grove, etc… The strides that the administration has made over the last ten years has done a lot to increase our endowment and improve our image as a fine public university. Your mother always told you that it takes a lifetime to build a reputation and 10 minutes to tear it down. Well, thanks to our newest starling moron, we’re back to square one. Below is a recent photo of Jamie Lynn Spears sporting a fashionable Ole Miss Sweatshirt.

The perception of Mississippi continues to be a backwards, ignorant people living in poverty and eating fried chicken. Mmmmm….fried chicken.

As a pediatrician, I have seen countless babies born to teen mothers and I really feel for the kids and the parents. A 17-year old mom isn’t emotionally ready to take care of a baby, and you know the dad probably won’t be around. I hope this baby doesn’t end up living in a whirlwind paparazzi carnival like its cousins. Someone does deem this worthy of being classified as “entertainment.” I don’t know, I’m not entertained. Go Rebels!
